Bonjour! I'm a third year Creative Writing and Film Studies student. I'm mainly taking care of all the tech side of things at the Showcase, though you may occasionally see me write comedy. And sometimes, I even do so in coherent English.

Hi, I’m a second year, currently studying English and Creative Writing and I mostly make posters for HU Writes along with my friend Emmy. I love crafts, painting but most of all writing.
Ellie Foreman

I'm a third year Creative Writing and Film Studies student and I am part of the magazine team. I also help run the website and edit the podcast. I mostly write fantasy and I love fairy tales and mythology.

My name is Emma or Em and I'm in my first year of English and Creative Writing. In my spare time I'm a singer-songwriter. The picture is a small brag because it used to be on a webpage for a local open mic in Hull.

Hi, I’m a second year English and Creative Writing student! Along with Cassandra, I work on the posters and artwork for HU Writes. I mainly write fan-fiction inspired stories; Transformers is definitely my favourite though. I also enjoy baking and doll customisation, and jerboas are my favourite animal.

Hi my name is Jan. I'm a first year Creative Writing and English student from Thailand and I do communications and some artwork for the Magazine team. I like reading trashy romance novels. Cringe I know. My favourite genres to write are romance and contemporary fiction, most of which features dark themes that are controversial. Also I'm autistic so I have a lot of issues and tissues.

I'm a Masters student from Malaysia studying Creative Writing and I lead the Magazine and Website teams. Performing arts is my passion and I aspire to work in the entertainment field one day. You can find me jamming to Taylor Swift while researching on crime and murder (for my writing of course)!

Hi, I’m Lara! I’m from the Netherlands, and in my third year of English. (I also study law, but I put that on hold for now. I don’t recommend doing two degrees at once if you want any free time.) I’m one of the editorial designers for the magazine and I love to draw, write, read and make music. During my time at Hull, I mostly take creative writing modules, which is a childhood dream come true!

Sam Bixby-Bland

I'm a second year Creative Writing and English student who is contributing to HU Writes on the Showcase and Podcast teams. My writing was featured in Document 1 and the Strategy 2030 Launch Event. I'm a former preschool teacher and Disney Parks cast member. One of my life goals was to meet and pet a highland cow, which I accomplished in December 2021. Moo!
